Home energy tax credits are available in 2025 for energy-efficient improvements and residential clean energy systems. Due to recent legislation, most of these credits will expire after 2025. Eligible upgrades must be installed and completed by December 31, 2025. The two main credits are the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit and the Residential Clean Energy Credit. Solar Rebate Program: The Residential Solar PV (solar photovoltaic technology) Incentive Program provides a one-time, $1,000 incentive to residents who choose to install Solar PV on their homes.

Water Conservation Rebate Programs: If you are a Foster City Estero Municipal Improvement District (EMID) water customer, you may be eligible for a Rebate. Residential Rebates/Incentives: Peninsula Clean Energy (PCE) offers a range of tax breaks, incentives, rebates, and financing options to make transitioning to an electric lifestyle as affordable as possible.

The California Energy-Smart Homes Program offers cash incentives to make new homes and upgrades all-electric, energy-efficient, and more affordable. Eligible projects include single-family homes, multifamily buildings, ADUs, and certain home alterations.

The California Public Utility Commission's (CPUC) Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP) provides incentives to support existing, new, and emerging distributed energy resources. SGIP provides incentives for qualifying distributed energy systems installed on the customer's side of the utility meter. The CPUC’s Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP) offers incentives for installing paired solar and energy storage technology at low-income residential properties.

Clean Cars for All offers grants for income-qualified Bay Area residents to retire their older car and replace it with a plug-in hybrid, battery, or hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle, or a pre-paid card to use for public transit and purchase e-bikes.

Clean Heating Efficiently with Electric Technology (Clean HEET) Program: Apply for up to $10,500 towards the cost of removing your existing wood-burning stove, fireplace, or insert and replacing it with a cleaner, more efficient electric heat pump system - or receive up to $1,000 to permanently remove it without replacing it.

Vehicle Buyback Program: 2000 and older vehicles are eligible! Get paid $2,000 to turn in your working older car or small truck for scrapping. This program reduces air pollution in the Bay Area by taking older vehicles off the road.
